The original train station is still on this site just 100' behind the home. The station has long since been closed and the tracks have been removed, but surely the memories live on.
Plum Lake Station now offers a main house, two guest cottages and a dressage facility all nestled on 80 acres and 1200' of shoreline. The gradual grassy slope to the lake ends on a nice sandy beach and crystal clear water. The waterfront activities include a complimentary rowboat, two canoes, plus a paddle boat. A pontoon boat is available for rent on site.
Plum Lake is four miles long, 1108 acres, with miles and miles of undeveloped state owned shoreline. Riding lessons can be arranged on site for english style dressage using an indoor or an outdoor arena.
The main house has been comfortably furnished to sleep 12 people. It offers a formal dining area, breakfast counter, custom kitchen, great room, hardwood floors through out, master bedroom with master bath and more! The upstairs has a warm feel to it with hardwood floors throughout, cathedral ceilings, and floor to ceiling windows on both the front and the back sides of the house!
One of the extraordinary features of this home is 2000 square feet of living in the downstairs area. Along with the fourth bedroom and separate bathroom, there is a beautiful recreation room with couches, Direct TV, stone fireplace, pool table, antique player piano, and a full service wet bar. The opportunities of a home with this type of set up are unlimited for extra guests or just hanging out.
One of the lakeside cottages is available for rent too. We call it the Pine Tree and it offers 2 bedrooms, one queen bed, two twin beds, futon sofa, full bath, and kitchen. Pine Tree has access to the same lakeside amenities as the main house. You may rent Pine Tree with the main house or separately.
